Greetings and welcome to my new website! I'm glad to have you have found my little corner of the web.  I'm excited to have you along for my new adventure!

If you're new to me and my work, I'm Nikkiana.  I'm a mixed media artist based in New Hampshire (but frequently can be found in Maine).  I'm a former front end web developer who stepped out of the tech industry 10 years ago because I didn't like the direction it was headed as a whole, and it was negatively affecting my mental health. 

My work seeks to explore the intersection of the analog and the digital, and I am staunchly and thoroughly ethically against generative AI.  

Over the coming months, this website is going to become the hub for my online experience and will host my blog and my artwork, and eventually a store where you can buy some of my work. 

I wanted to create myself a new home on the web that is more in line with my values and how I want to show up online.  I wanted a space that is separate from all the noise and algorithms of big social media where I can explore my thoughts more slowly and intentionally, and connect more deeply with people who are likeminded and appreciate my work. 

I've been creating and sharing online for 29 years, and the creation of this website is  representative of me getting back to the fundamentals of being a artist who is sharing their work online.  

While I'm sure social media has it's place in the tech stack of my life for the time being, I'm looking to greatly reduce my reliance upon it and start making more ethical and uplifting choices with it.
